Children exposed to unsafe environments suffer severe consequences that impact their physical, emotional, mental, and social development, often leaving lasting damage. Being an NGO working against child labour in India, we collaborate closely with communities to address the issue of child labour at the grassroots level.

Poverty is India’s leading cause of school dropout; nearly half of students who begin secondary school never finish it. Financial pressure pushes boys into labour and girls into domestic work or early marriage.

  • 1 in 2 students who start Class 9 never finish Class 12.
  • 8.2% of Indian children drop out at the secondary level.

Atmahit Foundation breaks this cycle with free residential care, education, nutrition and life skills for vulnerable children.
